AltCast Music: NXNES x Pink Nois at the Armory

AltCast Music: NXNES x Pink Nois at the Armory

Let me regale you with a tale of DIY magic.

Once upon a time, aka this past April, Albany basement venue The Canadian Embassy decided to close its doors–but not before throwing one final show.

Among the artists to play that night was one Pink Nois, playing an improvisational set on a borrowed keyboard, and NXNES, an experimental R&B act joined by a couple band members. After catching each other’s sets, they introduced themselves, they jammed, and the rest is history. If it weren’t for that farewell show, this duo wouldn’t exist, so we’re thankful. Where one door closes, another opens.

Without further ado, The Alt is so excited to share the first official collaborative performance of NXNES and Pink Nois. The set consists of a few NXNES originals (“JOI”,”Pane” and “Timeloop”) a cover of Daniel Caesar’s “Get You” and a collaborative track called “Your Orbit.”

Thanks to the artists for performing, to the Schenectady Armory for providing our new performance space, to Dan Maddalone for sound engineering, to Open Stage Media for filming and to AJ Kluck of The Canadian Embassy for providing the opportunity for these two to team up.
