As part of the “States of Incarceration” exhibit at the Tang, Curator-At-Large Isolde Brielmaier will moderate a public discussion around the subject of mass incarceration, the prison industrial complex and the idea of mobility and immobility in social, economic and political structure. Harvard historian Elizabeth Hinton, artist Duron Jackson, and activist Johnny Perez will speak on the panel. The speakers will focus on the recent sociopolitical climate of the U.S, paying attention to the use of imagery and its implications.
