Albany Mayor Kathy Sheehan is set to make her bid for a second term official, several sources told The Alt.
A flyer has been circulating to supporters touting a “special announcement” on Saturday, April 8th at Ancient Order of Hibernians at 1 PM and asking for RSVPs.
Sheehan faces Common Council President Carolyn McLaughlin, Councilman Frank Commisso and Green Party candidate Dan Plaat.
Commisso has come on strong early in the race with detailed policy proposals designed to fix the city’s perilous financial situation.
Sheehan’s announcement comes just as Gov. Andrew Cuomo and State Legislators appear to have agreed on a budget that will give Albany the $12.5 million in state aid the Mayor has lobbied for.
