Despite beginning his comedy career nearly three decades ago, Brian Regan’s 100 percent curse-less, clean style of comedy didn’t begin receiving widespread acclaim until a few years back, as his peers and stand-up fanatics began realizing what a unique talent the 59-year-old really is. As Jason Zinoman of The New York Times pointed out in his 2015 preview of Regan’s Comedy Central Stand-up Special at Radio City Music Hall, he’s one of few modern comedians who developed a devoted following strictly because of his standup; he never appeared in a high-profile movie. “He plays it safe with subject matter but shows gumption in the details of his performance,” Zinoman said. Regan will be bringing his latest stand-up routine to The Palace Theatre in Albany this Friday.
