Troy Savings Bank Music Hall, Saturday, 3/18, 8 PM
It’s no secret that St. Patrick’s Day in the Capital Region is a big effin’ deal. It is, in fact, Christmas, New Year’s Eve and Groundhog Day all rolled into one. Christmas, for its pure joy; New Year’s, for it bacchanalian aspects; and Groundhog Day because even though we know we’re probably going to party too hard, we can’t quit the eggs or the kegs. That said, we’re going to suggest that a great way to celebrate the snake-removal saint’s day is with one of the biggest, and finest, traditional Irish music bands of them all, Lunasa. Over the course of seven albums and numerous international tours, Lunasa have delighted audiences with their fiddles and whistles and pipes and guitars–and we think they’ll do the same in Troy on Saturday night.
