Last Friday, Nov. 18, the Saratoga Springs-based band Dryer celebrated the release of their new EP, Bright Moon, Bright Sun, at One Caroline Street Bistro. The raucous night featured two sets of ’90s-inspired indie rock, including a mix of Dryer favorites and new work from the release–for the uninitiated, think post-punk rock like Weezer, The Pixies, or the Boston band Helium.
The five-song EP is the band’s 18th studio release, but its first collection of new songs since 2002. It was recorded in Saratoga Springs at Starling Studio with Jason Brown, and is the first recording with the band’s newest member, Brian Akey, former bass player for The Winterpills.
The EP will be available through all major digital download and streaming sites and on vinyl in early 2017. Catch Dryer next on Dec. 2 at Gugs in Glens Falls with Candy Ambulance and Easy Tiger.
